How this is calculated

The planner gathers results from the building calculators into one shopping list. On any calculator, work out your quantities as usual, then press Add to planner. The result is added to the list held in the page address, so you can move between calculators and the list travels with you: the calculator links on this page carry the current list along, and adding from another calculator keeps everything already here.

Items that name the same material and unit are added together automatically. Two concrete calculations, for example, combine into a single line for 25kg bags of ready-mix. Different sizes stay separate, so 300 x 300 mm and 600 x 600 mm slabs remain two lines.

The list lives entirely in the page address. Nothing is stored on your device or sent anywhere, and closing the tab loses the list unless you bookmark or copy the link. Use Copy list for a plain-text version to paste into a message or note, or Print for a paper copy to take to the merchant. Quantities come straight from the calculators, so the same advice applies: estimates only, and check the manufacturer's coverage rates before you order.
